BANDOLERO CARS ARE COMING!
Posted: August 6, 2013
Auto Clearing Motor Speedway, and Rev’d Up Performance Racecars are proud to announce that Bandolero Cars will be making their initial debut on August 31st.
For the first time in the history of the Speedway racers as young as 8 years old will have an opportunity to race. The Bandolero car is a turnkey spec series race car designed for young drivers. Safety is the number one concern starting with a shock absorbing frame design all the way to the mandated safety devices. The cars are powered by a Brigg’s and Stratton 570cc engine, putting out 30 horsepower. Weighing only 550 lbs, these cars are quick and agile, while allowing junior racers to develop the skills needed to operate a full sized racecar.
“Introducing a younger generation to stock car racing is critical in developing future stars that will ensure the success of the stock car racing program for many years to come” said Rev’d Up owner Ellery Erb.
The cars are manufactured by US Legend Cars in Charlotte, North Carolina and are being raced all around North America. The Bandolero series is governed by INEX, which is the same sanctioning body that governs Legends Cars. Rev’d Up is bringing in some of these cars to allow several kids the opportunity to give them a try. Mini-races will be held during the intermission of both the August 31st, and September 14th events. Future plans for next season will depend on the interest generated, but both ACMS and Rev’d Up are hopeful that several races will be added to next year’s schedule.
