Round Sixteen Racing - POINTS FINALS
Hard to believe that here we are at the end of the racing season already! We've seen some great battles on the track and tonight will be no exception. Competing tonight in their points finals are the Part Source Mini Stocks, the Cooper Tires Thunder Stocks, the Budget Car & Truck Rental Street Stocks and the SKL Trailers Pro Trucks.
The top three in the Cooper Tires Thunder Stocks division after the first race event were #81 STEFANIUK, #18 REA and #49 POGODA. After all the bumps and spins of the season, they remain in that order. STEFANIUK has a 39 point lead over REA and 81 point lead over POGODA. The top three positions should not change with tonight’s race…but you never know!
The Budget Car & Truck Rental Street Stock division has #88 WRENNICK holding down the top spot with a 39 point lead over #34 SCHROEDER and a 73 point lead over third place #87 SAUNDERS car (driven by LESCHENKO).
In the SKL Trailers Pro Trucks division the top three heading into the last race are #67 ROSS in first, followed by #38 KUCHER and #27 LUCAS. Looking back to the points after the first race event of the 2011 season, they too are in the same order. ROSS hasn’t been able to hold the top position all season and KUCHER is only 14 points behind…so a good night for KUCHER and some bad luck for ROSS could turn the tides again.
In the Part Source Mini Stocks division, rookie #10 DYCK leads by six points over veteran #77 VANGOOL and has a nine point lead over third position #13 BECK who is also in his rookie season.
Also happening tonight, the Fan Favourite Driver Award will be presented based on your on-line votes. Who will it be this year?
Two division champions have already been crowned for the 2011 season. #55 GAUNT got another Super Late Model championship title and #49 BUSCH won the Western Sportsman division championship. Congratulations to both drivers for their great driving and to the teams for their hard work throughout the season!
