Round Fifteen Racing - slm points finals
Well, it's hard to believe the end of the season is here already! Last weekend the Western Sportsman division wrapped up their racing season with Ben Busch taking the champion title. The visiting Super Trucks and the SKL Trailers Pro Trucks will compete tonight but the highlight for the night will definitely be the Super Late Models. These teams will compete for the last time of the season. :( The Dakota Dunes Casino Western Canadian Super Late Model Championship Series (WCSLMCS) wraps up their series with the Keystone 150. For the local points chase, GAUNT and SEIDEL continue to battle for first/second. Two points separate the two. The battle for third position between HERTZKE and KONDRA is within three points and the battle for fifth position between BONE and REIMER is within two. In the WCSLMCS points chase, EMOND has a nineteen point lead over HAYLEY, SEIDEL holds the third spot and GAUNT is fourth.
Driver Profile - super late model - Trevor hannay???
This week we feature Trevor Hannay in Track Talk. Actually there will not be m
uch about him but there will be little tid bits about the local drivers and crews in the SLM division as seen by Trevor Hannay. In numerical order, here we go.
#5 Jeff Reimer, I'm glad Jeff likes me, at least I think he likes me. He will give you room if he likes you, might be a long night if he doesn't. Nice equipment, good pit crew. Jeff has brought the car in once or twice in umm not so good condition and that baby is showroom by next race meet.
#14 Glen Hertzke, a technical bunch these guys are. Measurements, weights, specifications. I think Harold would stroke out if he seen how we do things in the 44 crew. Always there to lend a guiding hand though and then walk away snickering.
#20 Kenny Campbell, had a couple of run ins with Kenny, found out all can be settled with the purchase of a couple of Keystones after the races.
#22 Dougy B, you just never know, on or off the track, you just never know what he is gonna do or say. Keeps you on your toes.
#38 Dave Bone, good friend, whatever he has is yours if you want it. Just has to pick pit crew guys who don't wear bikinis in between races right Jeremy?
#44 Trevor Hannay, cancer, strong silent type, likes long walks on the beach and mars bars and Keystone beer.
#55 Jim Gaunt, gentleman Jim Gaunt? umm ok. Greg Moir would beg to differ. Radioed my crew after that one and said did you see that? mental note, don't p.o. Jim!
#56 Howard Crossman, did he say something? Doesn't say much. Lets his driving do the talking. Really nice hair, number 2 after PJ in my books.
#69 PJ Kondra, a co worker had a good expression of PJ. He's like that bad wrestler that is always antagonizing. Whether he's at the front or back, it's in your best interest to keep an eye on him.
#70 Trent Seidel, I have to restrict this in length. I should also caution some sensitive viewers. Oh not really, he's just a teddy bear wrapped up really, really, REALLY tightly. This is what I think is in Trent's mind at the track. That is my 1st place trophy! You guys go get your own!
#77 Jim VanBarnsley, works well under pressure, that being the watchful eye of Tom Vangool. Tom reminds me of the little bird on the Bugs Bunny Show that figured everything out in the air before it happened. He's a race car encyclopaedia.
#88 Jason Gervais, very talented, demands respect, always prepared, helpful. You are coming up after for that cold Keystone you promised right?
My highlight of the race year to date? A little boy was walking form Jeff Reimer's car over to Dave Bone's car collecting autographs. On the way by mine I asked if he wanted my autograph. He politely said no thank you. Kinda stung!
