Track Talk

round three racing - here we go!

Rain rain go away...come back again - but not on a race day!  The weather played havoc last weekend and tried to do it again today...

This weekend's racing line up includes the Part Source Mini Stocks, the Cooper Tire Thunder Stocks, the Budget Car & Truck Rental Street Stocks and the SKL Trailers Pro Trucks.

Things to watch...LESCHENKO driving SAUNDERS #87, currently in the lead of the Street Stock division but with WRENNICK close behind...the rookie DYCK #10 in 2nd place following veteran VANGOOL in the Mini Stock division...more contact to come between POGODA & REA ??? in the Thunder Stock division....fast trucks ROSS, KUCHER and LUCAS  in the top three positions.

DRIVER PROFILE - Brennen Forseille #28 Street Stock

Q.  How and when did you get started racing?  A. I started racing in 2007. My Parents, Gerry and Cheryl, got me into racing. My dad would take me to the races when I was 3 years old, and I was hooked. I was always waiting to go again. In 1997 both my parents started driving. They raced for a few years and took a break in 2002. In 2007 we built a mini stock to race together. By the second year I took over the driving duties.

Q. What has been the biggest change with you moving to the Street Stock division? A. The 2 different cars that I have drove on the track are a 1995 Dodge Neon Mini Stock, and 1979 Chevy Camaro Street Stock. The neon was 1000 pounds lighter and handled a lot better than the Camaro. You could put the power down and not worry about spinning out coming out of the corner. One big difference between the two cars is the Camaro is tight into a corner and loose out of a corner. The neon is loose in and tight out. The Camaro is also lot less responsive to steering input. It is still going to take a bit of time to gain confidence behind the wheel of the Camaro.

Q. Who makes the decisions on your car set-up?  A. When we were setting up the mini, my dad and I would sit down in the computer room and bounce ideas off of each other on how to improve the car. We would come up with an idea, get the other’s opinion on it and decide if it was worth trying. We are now just starting to play with the setup on the Camaro. I have read a couple of books and I am also trying to apply what we learned with the mini stock to the street.

Q. What else would you tell your fans about yourself?  A. One interesting little tid bit is that when I was 5 yrs old, I was sitting in the stands cheering for Don Pogoda who owned the Camaro that I am currently driving.
