Saturday July 7th was jammed packed with great racing action as drivers, teams and fans were out at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway on a beautiful sunny evening. Three local divisions, the Cooper Tire Thunder Stocks,SKL Trailer Pro Trucks and the WSSL Auto Parts Super Late Models along with the Midwest Combustion WEST series tore up the track. Drivers and fans alike were glad to see Ron Just back in the pace car after several weeks off due to surgery and the first class he brought out on track was the Cooper Tire Thunder Stock division. The #66 Brent Dupuis took the checkered flag for the heat race followed by #81 Curtis Houben and #18 Mike Rea. #66 Brent Dupuis also won the qualifier race with #81 Curtis Houben in second and #18 Mike Rea in third. This division is getting back to its roots and car contact seemed to be the order of the night. In the 40 lap feature race #81 Curtis Houben got the win followed by #7 Floyd Ransom in second place and #76 Logan Derksen in third. Curtis accepted his 50th anniversary flag from lifetime member Dave Bone. The SKL Trailer Pro Trucks are a strong division this year with lots of close racing all season. In the first heat #19 Rylan Utigard had a good start to his night with a win followed by #49 Shantel Firth and #93 Neil Schneider. In the divisions qualifier race, #18 Bill Zubrecki got the win with #27 Scott Lucas in second and #54 Tony Mikulcik in third. The SKL Trailer Pro Truck feature race of the night was a 50 lap race. #19 Rylan Utigard put on a dominant performance breaking away from the pack and leading the caution free race from flag to flag while the rest of the pack battled it out for second with #54 Tony Mikulcik taking those honors and #27 Scott Lucas coming in third. Rylan accepted his 50th anniversary flag from long time member Ron Just. The WSSL Auto Parts Plus Super Late Models put on another exciting show with the hot slick track making it challenging for the drivers to put the power down. In the first heat race #38 Dave Bone found victory lane with #67 Ken Ross and #70 Trent Seidel close behind. The qualifier saw #55 Jim Gaunt turn his night around and take the win over #14 Glen Hertzke and #22 Doug Bienia finished third. The WSSL Auto Parts Plus Super Late Model feature was a hard fought 50 lap event that saw #70 Trent Seidel come through with a win, #55 Jim Gaunt finished second with #56 Howard Crossman bringing it home in third. Trent accepted his 50th anniversary flag from long time member Harold Hertzke. The Midwest Combustion Western Elite StockCar Tour presented by Castrol made their second stop at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway. #48 Nathan Weenk had an excellent night starting with pole position at 15.511. In the first lap of the first heat race #04 Tim Kammer's engine let go bringing an early end to his night along with a full restart. #48 Nathan Weenk got the win with #51 Nick Jewel bringing it home in second and #21 Nick Allen taking third. The qualifier was more of the same with plenty of action racing for second on back as #48 Nathan Weenk claimed another win leading flag to flag. The #50 Nick Jewel managed to get back to the line to take second before the #21 Nick Allen who once again claimed third. The Midwest Combustion Western Elite StockCar Tour 50 lap feature race had several cautions due to aggressive racing but when the smoke cleared and the fiberglass was cleaned up #48 Nathan Weenk finished first making for a perfect night. #21 Nick Allen finished second and Shantel Firth finished third driving her father Ben Busch's #49.Nathan accepted his 50th anniversary flag from long time member Dan Shirley. The next action at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway is Friday July 13 with Parts Source Mini Stock, Budget Car & Truck Rental Street Stock and the SKL Trailer Pro Truck Divisions taking the track.
