Round Ten Racing - Mini Stock Invitational & Legends Froster 50

After a couple of weeks off, drivers, teams and race fans at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway are ready get back into the racing action. Tonight's race kicks off the second half of the 2011 race season and with the end of the season now in sight, drivers are making their final push for the top spot.

Tonight's racing includes the Budget Car and Truck Rental Street Stocks, the Cooper Tires Thunder Stocks Part Source Mini Stocks and the visiting Legends Series. The two feature events for the evening will be the Legends Froster 50 (83 laps) and the Mini Stock Invitational (50 laps). A ten point spread for the top three positions in the Mini Stock division - WAGNER, VANGOOL and rookie DYCK hold the top three spots.

Driver Profile - #10 Kevin Dyck - Mini Stock

Q. How did you get the racing bug?
A. Since I was little I always liked to go fast and a couple years ago I started helping Darryl Potts in the pits. Last year Darryl wanted us to get our own car so I could get racing. Then we heard about the junior program one day when we were in the pits and decided to give it a try. First day out there running the junior car and I was hooked. I was then offered a ride by Craig Heintz to drive the #11 Mini Stock in a race. I started the race in the back and made consistent lap times to only be passed by the leader with 2 laps or so to go. After that we bought a car and couple weeks later and built the car over the winter.

Q. Did you go through the junior program and if so, was it helpful?
A. Yes, I went through the junior program and it was helpful. It taught me how the track felt and what kind of lines to run.

Q. You seemed to be competitive right out of the gate, have you raced before?
A. No, I haven't raced anything except the stuff I learned from the junior program and the one race in the #11 Mini Stock last year. I've also ran some laps in Darryl's car at the dirt track in Outlook.

Q. Who is on your pit crew and what roles do they play?
A. My Pit Crew is my family. My dad is my crew chief and my sisters are my crew. They take tire temperatures, tire pressures, and make adjustments to the car when needed.

Q. Did you build your car and if so, did anybody give you a hand or tips?
A. Yes, we built our car on our own and Todd Jalbert gave us tips for getting the car setup.
