BRYCE MANN MEMORIAL RACE  AND HOMECOMING SEPTEMBER 4...

This Saturday we will honor and remember a great racing icon, Bryce Mann.  Bryce began his racing career in Saskatoon in 1962 at the age of 20 (at the Eight Street Motordrome). He had a penchant for anything with an engine, especially if it went fast. Bryce had his private pilot’s license and raced anything he could, including motorbikes and snowmobiles. His real passion was for racing cars, and this passion, combined with natural talent/ability brought Bryce many checkered flags and broken track records.  He raced in Western Canada, where he was a Can-Am pts leader, and towards the end of his career, broke into the Western US NASCAR Circuit.  Sadly, his racing career ended on June 19, 1977, at the age of 35 from an accident that left him with broken ribs, a punctured lung and a serious head injury. Bryce had such passion for life that he made a miraculous recovery after 3 months in a coma, and he met his rehabilitation with determination and a positive attitude that helped him meet many challenges until his passing on July 30 of 2009.  As a talented driver with both passion and commendable skill, and one of the first Canadians to race Nascar, Bryce Mann will be remembered as a racing legend.

SUPER TRUCK RACING—EXCITEMENT AS ALWAYS...It became a battle of who was going to survive Saturday night at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in the caution filled JB Water and Vacuum Service super trucks as only two trucks finished the race on the lead lap.  For a lot of the race (35 laps) Larry Cramer was the only truck on the lead lap.  Saskatoon race fans almost witnessed another ‘Booger’ miracle on Saturday as Jamie McClennon almost pulled off another upset reminiscent of last year’s final race win over Trent Seidel.
A pair of cautions in almost identical crashes between corners two and three left the No. 24 truck in the most enviable position — a lap up on the rest of the field and the race half over. Click on TRACK TALK to read full story.
